Washington, D.C. – Today, MoveOn Political Action spotlighted a letter to the editor in the Wisconsin State Journal imploring Badger Staters who support clean energy and pro-climate initiatives to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. The letter eviscerates support for Green Party candidate Jill Stein by noting how third party empowerment of the Republican Party has resulted in weaker environmental protection.
Excerpts from the piece here:
In 2016, Green Party candidate Jill Stein likely helped to elect Donald Trump and, with him, three justices who helped strip the Environmental Protection Agency and other watchdog agencies of regulatory power.
Now Stein is at it again as is Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has sided with Trump. Kennedy has long fought for a clean environment, yet intends to help elect one of the worst environmental presidents in history.
I hope those who care about saving our planet and ensuring clean air and water can see that Stein and Kennedy are not the answer to advance their cause. They should vote to elect Kamala Harris.
What the writer didn’t note: Stein’s anti-environment record extends beyond merely helping to elect Republicans. She personally benefits from oil and gas leases, including the Keystone XL pipeline, and profits from her stocks in Big Oil companies like ExxonMobil and Chevron
While Vice President Harris fought to pass historic climate legislation, Jill Stein opposed the Biden-Harris Administration’s bipartisan deal, which will create millions of new green jobs and invest billions of dollars in clean energy projects over the next decade.
